A 2011 graduate of Presentation High School in San Jose, Calif., Tagart helped lead the Panthers to a No. 5 national ranking (MaxPreps) after posting a 34-6 record during the 2010 season. Earning her second straight All-West Catholic Athletic League selection as a senior, Tagart recorded 149 kills and 32 blocks in 2010. Playing for one of the top high schools in the country and the state of California, Tagart and the Panthers took home the prestigious Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions title to close out the year as they competed against some of the best competition in the country en route to the trophy. As a junior, Tagart was named the San Jose Mercury Junior of the Year for her play on the court as she tallied 192 kills and 57 blocks in 40 matches. Additionally, Tagart earned all-league and all-section honors for her play. Outside of her high school play, Tagart was an integral member of the 18-Gold Vision Volleyball Club which took home the bronze medal in the 17 Open Junior National Championships. Most recently, Vision earned yet another bid to the Junior Olympics where they will compete in Atlanta, Georgia from June 30-July 3.
Kathryn Tagart was born in San Jose, Calif. and is the daughter of Mary and Mark Tagart. She has one younger brother, Jack. In her first year at Pacific Katy is majoring in psychology.
