STOCKTON, Calif. - The Tiger track & field team head to their final meet of the season this weekend when they go to San Francisco, Calif. for the West Coast Last Chance Open. The field events will take place on Friday, May 12th with the running events as well as the jumps and javelin occurring on Saturday.
The USF Last Chance will be the first meet for Pacific since April 22nd when the Tigers competed at the Bulldog Open. At the Open, Emily Wylie placed 12th with a time of 2:21.75 in the 800m, which was just off the program record. Jasmine Gonzales finished 5th in the 3000m as she sped through with a time of 10:21.46, which is a freshman program best, while Emma Winkler posted a 10:54.44, which is a personal-best. Already the Pakistani Women's National Record holder in the 3000m, Myra Lakdawala improved on her time as she registered an 11:01.95. Rounding out the Tigers in the event was Madison Cote with a time of 11:49.54. In discus Jasmine Jenkins threw a 31.19m, which is a Tiger program best. In shot put, Jenkins threw an impressive 10.29m and Alexia Amo followed with a distance of 9.17m.
This weekend the Tigers will face familiar West Coast Conference foes such as Saint Mary's, USF and Santa Clara as well as other teams from throughout California.
