SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The University of the Pacific women's tennis team earned five All-Academic honors with Maayan Sela receiving her second All-Academic Team honor, as released by the West Coast Conference on Tuesday.
Sela led the team in singles play with a 7-8 record overall and in dual action. She partnered with Dohee Lee in doubles and went 4-11 on the season. Sela earned the All-Academic honor after posting a cumulative 3.64 GPA in Business Administration.
Asami went 2-3 on the season and finished 3-3 in doubles play with teammate Anna Ramos Vinolas. Asami posted a 3.77 GPA in Health, Exercise, and Sport Science with a Health and Exercise concentration.
Nederstigt and Popescu teamed up most of the season in doubles play and finished 2-5. In singles, Nederstigt went 6-10 overall and finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.90 in Biochemistry. Popescu owned a 3.58 GPA in Business Administration throughout the season.
Rodriguez rounds out the honorees with a 3.83 GPA in Business Administration and played in the second half of the season finishing with a 4-5 record overall and in dual play through singles competition.
"I am very excited to get the news that our players are being honored for their continued excellence in academics," said head coach Mike Erwin. "We're very proud of their efforts on and off the courts."
