Sela Picks Up Fourth Win As Tigers Fall In Oklahoma

NORMAN, Oklahoma - Maayan Sela continues her winning streak picking up her fourth win of the 2018 season at Oklahoma defeating Jasmine Asghar in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3 Saturday morning as the Tigers fell to the Sooners, 6-1.  

In doubles action, the Sooners were able to get ahead quick and took the matches at No. 1 and No. 3. At No. 2 doubles, Maayan Sela and Sabrina Rodriguez are knotted, 4-4, before their match was announced unfinished.

In singles play, Ioana Popescu received her second start as a Tiger but dropped her match, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. At No. 3 singles, Dohee Lee mirrored Popescu with a 6-0, 6-1 loss, while Anna Ramos Vinolas also fell, 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 1 singles, Karina Vyrlan faced No. 18 Lily Miyazaki in a well fought battle but the Tiger fell 6-1, 6-2. Anneroos Nederstigt took her match to three sets at No. 6 taking the first set, 6-4, but dropping the next, 6-1. In the tie-break set, Nederstigt grabbed four points, but Sooner, Malene Stripp took the final set 10-4 and the match.

The Tigers are now 2-2 on the season, while the Sooners move to 4-4 overall.
