STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team opens the 2018 spring season at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center with a pair of matches. The season begins on Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. against The Academy of Art followed by a match on Sunday at 11 a.m. hosting Seattle.

Matches are free of charge and all are welcomed to attend.

In the 2016-17 campaign, Pacific defeated the Academy of Art, 4-3, at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. Maayan Sela, Sabrina Rodriguez, and Yuki Asami all picked up wins for the Tigers to secure the win.

This is the first time Seattle Redhawks and the Pacific Tigers have matched up in the last five years.

"We are really excited to begin our season at home this weekend," said interim head coach Mike Erwin. "The team has been working hard in preparation and are eager to test themselves on the match court."

Friday and Sunday's matches will mark the first of 10 matches scheduled to be played at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center this season.

Pacific will return five starters with juniors Yuki Asami, Anneroos Nederstigt, Sabrina Rodriguez, and Maayan Sela along with sophomore Anna Ramos Vinolas. Sophomores Jessica Kaye and Ioana Popescu also return for their second season.
