Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Women's Tennis team won another 4-3 decision, this time over Nevada on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers improved to 4-2 on the season, while Nevada dropped to 5-2.

The Tigers dropped the doubles point 2-1, with Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Antonella Santeusanio getting a win at No. 3 doubles. In singles competition, Hana Ritterova, Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Santeusanio picked up victories to even the match at 3-3. It came down to Gergana Boncheva getting a comeback victory at No. 5 over Elissa Pavelea to clinch the match for the Tigers.

"That was a great win for the Tigers and really was an all around team effort," said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "I am so pleased with the fight and energy the ladies brought today- they were determined to win it. We lost the doubles point by the skin of our teeth but had a win at No. 3 with Antonella and Cristina remaining undefeated. They also both went on to win their singles matches which was huge for the team. The match came down to Gergana at 5 who had just split sets. Once she won that second I had so much confidence that she was going to close it out and she really stepped up winning a very quick third set 6-1 playing very high quality tennis with such poise. I'm very proud of our team and we will look to improve these next couple weeks at practice."

The Tigers return to action with a road match at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11:00 a.m.
