Frenso, Calif.- At the final day of the Bulldog Classic at Fresno State, the Tigers walked away from the tournament by posting a singles win in addition to a strong doubles win.
In the doubles bracket, sophomore Regina Suarez and partner freshman Christiana Ferrari posted a confident win of 8-3 against Cal Poly duo Kelper and Kalvins. Ferrari went on to then confidently close out her singles match in straight sets with a winning final match score of 6-0, 6-3.
Upon reflection, Head Women's Tennis Coach Charlotte Scatliffe stated, "At the end of day 3 of the Bulldog Classic I am feeling like we showed great improvements. We picked up a much needed doubles win this morning and the ladies that competed in singles stepped up and left all they had on court. In Gergana's Final B Flight match she competed hard but couldn't come up with the structure she needed to solidify her leads in each game. We did a lot of growing this tournament and I was pleased to see the ladies improve in their mental games and have the stamina we needed to keep wanting more match play. Now that we have completed our Fall tournaments we can work even harder in practice to give us the edge we need to take it to the Big West in our last year in this conference."
