Women's Swimming Returns To Kjeldsen For Quad Meet

What's Happening
The Pacific women's swim team returns home to Kjeldsen Pool this week for a two-day quad meet on Friday, November 4, and Saturday, November 5. Air Force, Fresno State, and Seattle U will participate in Friday's portion while Cal State Bakersfield will replace Fresno State on the second day. The meet gets underway at 4 p.m. on Friday and continues at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Week In Brief
The Tigers hit the road for a pair of dual meets last week, facing off against Nevada on Friday, October 28, and conference foe Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, October 29. Pacific fell to Nevada 137-100 before routing the Roadrunners 160-119.
A Quick Look Ahead
Pacific will participate in the three-day Arena Classic in Long Beach, Calif., from Thursday, November 17, to Saturday, November 19. Last season saw 20 women's teams compete in the meet with Pacific-12 member Stanford claiming the title.
National Rankings
The Tigers have numerous swimmers ranked nationally in a field of over 500 competitors. Junior Mallory McGowan ranks 73rd and 74th in the 100 Breast (1:05.29) and 200 Breast (2:23.06), respectively. Sophomore Lydia Schramm's 18:14.95 mark in the 1650 Free is good for 87th while junior Laurie White's time of 18:23.72 ranks 92nd. The 50 Free sees Randall ranked 88th with a time of 23.88. A pair of freshmen also have top times as Sydni Johanson ranks 101st in the 1650 Free with a time of 18.38.76 while Dekel Shahaf owns times of 57.22 in the 100 Fly and 58.33 in the 100 Back, good for 142nd and 177th nationally, respectively. Senior Elena Walterman ranks 176th in the 100 Fly with a time of 57.57.
Pacific's relay squads also have some of nation's top times. The 800 Free Relay team ranks 19th with a time of 7:54.69. A pair of relays have the Tigers ranked 55th, those being the 200 Free Relay (1:38.11) and the 200 Medley Relay (1:46.09). Pacific's 400 Free Relay team ranks 83rd with a time of 3:35.03.
