Tigers Play Host To Toreros

STOCKTON, Calif. - The women's softball team take on the University of San Diego this weekend for a three-game series.

Coming off a 6-0 midweek win against Stanford, Pacific heads into the series matchup with an overall record of 13-25, 2-4 in the WCC. San Diego (25-18, 4-2 WCC) has won it's previous two games, claiming two out of three against Santa Clara last weekend. 

The Tigers play their first game against USD this Saturday, April 21st, 12:00 PM followed by a doubleheader at 2:00 PM. The Orange and Black wrap up the weekend with a game on Sunday scheduled for noon.

Pacific had an impressive outing against Stanford this past Wednesday. The Orange and Black shutout the Cardinal, 6-0, driving in six runs off seven hits. Kenya Lindstrom pitched her first shutout of the season, giving up just one hit in the fifth inning to lead the Tigers to victory.

The Orange and Black have pitched two shutouts and averaged an ERA of 3.67 since the start of WCC play. Hailey Reed and Marissa Young have also contributed to Pacific's succes in the circle during this stretch, pitching 24.0 innings and accounting for 18 of the team's 26 total strikeouts.

On offense, the Tigers have grown consistent at the plate currently ranking third in the WCC with an overall batting average of .262.

Six different batters grabbed a hit in Pacific's midweek game Wednesday, including Caitlin Reynolds who tallied two singles and an RBI. Reed also recorded a hit, tallying one five out of her last seven games. 

San Diego (25-18, 4-2 WCC)

USD's Kailey Hill and Sara Silveyra look to carry the load for the Toreros. Hill leads the team with six home runs and RBI. Silveyra follows Hill with three home runs and 25 RBI.

In the circle, the Tigers face off against the trio of Hannah Boos, Delaney Heller, and Halle Kyler. The three pitchers hold a cumulative ERA of 2.96 with Boos leading at 2.66 Boos and Kyler have recorded 11 complete games for the Toreros while Heller has four saves on the year.
