Four Honored With NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Award

NFCA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Kenya Lindstrom, Jessica Pasco, Hailey Reed and Caitlin Reynolds have all earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the organization announced today.

A record 7,365 student-athletes across seven membership divisions earned this distinction including 1,843 softball players in NCAA Division I. To be considered, the student-athlete had to earn a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 2016-17 academic year.

A Biological Sciences major, Lindstrom appeared in 15 games in the circle for Pacific this past season, including nine starts with three complete games. The Denver, Colo. product has logged 20 strikeouts en route to a 5-4 record on the year.

Pasco graduated this past May with a Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing, capping off her career donning the Orange and Black. During the 2017 season she logged 27 putouts to go with a perfect 1.000 fielding mark.

Reed is a Business major with an accounting concentration and had a 4.0 GPA as a freshman at Pacific. She led the Orange and Black with a .324 overall season batting average, and was second on the team with 47 hits. The Topeka, Kan. native posted an impressive 2.11 regular season ERA in the circle, which was the lowest on the team.

Reynolds, a Psychology major, registered a .224 batting average including a .241 clip in WCC action, which is the sixth-highest on the team. Against Loyola Marymount this year, Reynolds hit her first career home run on a walk-off two-run shot that helped the Orange and Black sweep the double header over the Lions. She along with Lindstrom earned West Coast Conference All-Academic recognition last season after stellar performances in the classroom.

The Tigers continue their Fall season with a game this Thursday against Sacramento City College at Bill Simoni Field at 5:30 PM before taking on San Jose State on Friday at 4:30 PM.
