On The Road Again, Pacific Heads To Fresno To Take On The Bulldogs
Continuing their play away from the friendly confines of Bill Simoni Field, the Pacific softball team (0-2) hits the road once again as the Tigers head to Fresno State (3-2) on Tuesday, February 14 to take on the Bulldogs. The two teams will lock horns for the 103rd time in a single non-conference match up that will begin at 6:00 pm under the lights at Bulldog Stadium.
All-time, the Bulldogs hold 78-23-1 advantage over the Tigers including wins in the last six contests at Bulldog Stadium. Last season, the two teams played an 11-inning marathon game at Bill Simoni Field that lasted nearly three hours. The Tigers took home the 5-4 win over the Bulldogs, scoring a single run in the bottom of the 11th to put down a Fresno State rally that saw the Bulldogs tie the game in the top of the seventh inning.
For Pacific, the Tigers are looking for their first win of the 2012 season after dropping a pair of contest at UCLA over the weekend. The Tigers fell to No. 13/18 Kentucky, 3-2, on Friday afternoon to begin their season while dropping a 10-2 (6 inn.) contest to No. 13/19 UCLA on Saturday to end their weekend. The Bulldogs went 3-2 at home over the weekend at their first tournament of the season, taking the first three games of the weekend before suffering losses to Sacramento State and Long Beach State to end the weekend.
