Zarette was impressive in her first year as a Tiger, starting 17 of her 18 appearances. She scored two goals on the year, both in a span of three matches. Munoz-Aguilar had the game-winner against Arizona on Sept. 23, scoring in the 89th minute. Zarette scored Pacific's third goal at UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 30, as the Tigers ended up with a 3-3 tie. She also had a pair of assists on the year, assisting on Pacific's other goal in the Arizona win and getting an assist in the match against UC Davis on Oct. 5. Zarette was voted Co-Rookie of the Year by her teammates following the season.
Munoz-Aguilar, a 5-3 midfielder/forward out of San Jose, Calif., joined the Tigers from Leigh High School where she led the Longhorns to a 15-3-2 overall mark and a Blossom Valley League title with an 11-1-2 record as a senior. She earned All-BVAL honors for the third time for her play as she was named to the league's first team in 2011-12. She was First Team All-BVAL and league MVP as a junior with 12 goals and 12 assists, and earned first team all-league honors as a sophomore.
Zarette Munoz-Aguilar was born in San Jose, Calif., and is the daughter of Olivia Aguilar and Jose Munoz. She has one sibling, Surey Munoz-Richardson. Zarette will major in sports management.
