Liz played in all 18 matches for the Tigers in 2012, making 10 starts. She had a stretch of eight straight starts near the beginning of the year, then started two of the last three matches. She tallied four shots on the year, with two on goal. Liz played a career-best 109 minutes in the Tigers' 3-2 win over Saint Mary's on Sept. 20. Excelling in the clasroom, she was a Pacific and Big West Scholar Athlete.
In her first year of action for the Tigers Liz played in 15 games while starting 10 in Pacific's defense. In addition to her efforts defensively, she added a pair of goals on the year on just four shots. Liz scored against Sacramento State on Sept. 2 and again against Long Beach State on Oct. 30
A 5-6 center back from Wailuku, Hawai’i, Liz Higashino was the team captain for her Kamehameha High School team, helping the club to back-to-back MIL Championships. She was named MIL First Team in 2010 and 2011, and also earned Second Team All-State Team honors in those years as well. She was high school teammates with Pacific teammate Kapualani Entendencia.
She also has club experience on the Hawai’i ‘93 State Team, the Maui United ‘94 Soccer Club, winning state championships in 2008 and 2011, as well as the Honolulu Bulls ‘94 club, winning the 2010 Pats Cup Championship and the Las Vegas College Showcase Pool in 2011.
Elizabeth Mahinakonanepihapalua Higashino is the daugher of Peter and Carolee Higashino. She has three siblings: Kendall, Lily, and Kainoa. She is a Business Administration major.
