Women's Soccer Falls At Colorado College

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Pacific women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision on the road at Colorado College on Friday, September 14. With the loss the Tigers dropped to 1-6 on the season, while Colorado College improved to 4-1-3.

"We learned a lot from the game. Colorado College was very good today," said Tiger head coach Keith Coleman. "We still have two weeks to prepare for the start of Big West play and we plan on doing out best to use that time wisely."

Colorado College got on the board with an early goal from Madison Whitehead, off a free kick in the fifth minute. Pacific made a bid for the tie with 10 minutes to go in the first half, as sophomore defender Liz Higashino's shot from 15 yards out was stopped by a diving Kate Scheele, the CC goalkeeper.

In the first half, the Tigers had seven shots but were outshot 14-7 by Colorado College.

Colorado College made it 2-0 on a goal by Froetscher with just 25 seconds remaining in the first half. Kaeli Vandersluis scored at the 70 minute mark on a call that bounced in off the crossbar.
In the 55th minute, junior forward Maricela Padilla intercepted a pass deep in Colorado College territory, but had her shot blocked by a defender from 15 yards away.

In the second half, Pacific narrowed the margin in shots to 7-6. Pacific was outshot 21-13 overall, with Brittni Beeman leading the team with three shots.
The Tigers are next in action with a road match at Saint Mary's on Thursday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
