STOCKTON, Calif. - The No. 25Pacific field hockey team fell to 1-2 on the season after a loss to No. 20 Harvard Saturday afternoon, 5-3. Junior Kriekie van Wyk scored her first two goals of the season and Taylor Dempsey added her first goal for the 2017-18 campaign.

The Tigers struck first as Ash Rutherford found Dempsey in front of the goal to take the lead. The Crimson wouldn't be far behind as they scored three unanswered goals to end the first half.

To start the second, Harvard struck again as Hannah Pearce scored off a penalty corner to put her team up 4-1 on the Tigers. Pacific was not done fighting as van Wyk scored two goals in four minutes. Her first came from senior captain, Savannah Burns and the second off a penalty corner from Nthabi Maine and Emma Leach, who took the corner shot to setup the goal. The Tigers were within one goal, 3-4 before Harvard scored in the 69th minute to seal the victory.

Pacific moves to 1-2 as Harvard improves to 2-0. 

The Tigers will hit the road next weekend for an East Coast trip to take on #4 Connecticut along with UMass Lowell and Sacred Heart.
