Stockton, Calif. – Pacific (4-9, 0-2) Field Hockey will play a home and home with California (4-7, 1-2) this weekend, the first game will be in Berkeley, California on Friday, October 12 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers will then play host to the Golden Bears on Sunday, October 14 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Before Sunday's contest the Tigers will honor Ashlee Schlesier, Emily Trudeau, Jenna Vivian, Samantha Romero, Doreen Stern and Dinah Compton for their commitment to Pacific Field Hockey on its annual Senior Day.

The Tigers are coming off a loss to No. 14 and NorPac Conference opponent Stanford. Pacific played the Cardinal to a scoreless draw in the first half, but eventually fell behind late.

The Tigers received a goal in the contest from Vivian, she now has four goals and three assists on the year. Leading the Pacific offense this season in points with 15 is junior Paige Counsman. She assisted on the goal against Stanford and had a pair of scores earlier in the week in the upset of No. 22 Michigan State.

Also helping the attack is junior midfielder Emily Tregoning who has recorded 13 points on four goals and five assists. Junior Melissa Maultsby has also recorded double-digit points with 12 on five goals and two assists.

Pacific's defense was a huge piece to the scoreless first half against Stanford, which was led by the seniors Trudeau and Stern. Trudeau has the all-time Pacific defensive saves record with 22, including eight this season, while Stern has added four defensive saves in 2012.

The defense's last piece is senior keeper Schlesier. She has 46 saves in five games this season. She has recorded over 330 minutes played, while stopping 71 percent of the shots on target.

As for California they will take on Pacific after falling to Penn State 6-2. Lara Kruggel leads the Golden Bears with 20 points on nine goals and a pair of assists. In goal for California is Joelle van Hoorn with 38 saves. 

Pacific will finish its regular season with a pair of road contests against Stanford and UC Davis in late October.
