Davis, Calif. – Pacific (0-1, 0-1) field hockey opened regular season and NorPac Conference play against UC Davis (1-0, 1-0) Friday night dropping the contest 3-1.
The Tigers struck first after senior Amanda Spellman put a pass from sophomore Emily Tregoning in the back left of the net. The goal came at 14:18 in the first half, as Pacific played strong defense to hold a 1-0 halftime lead. Head Coach Linda MacDonald reflected on her team's performance saying, "Offensively we played great in the first half, but we got tired and starting making mistakes defensively."
The Tigers threatened several times on offense in the second half, but were unable to get a shot inside the circle.
Pacific continues NorPac play when they welcome Cal for their first home game Saturday, September 3 at 1:00 p.m.
