One of the top athletes in Iowa state high school history, Jorgensen was a standout five-sport athlete at Southeast Webster-Grand High School in Dayton, Iowa. A 2008 graduate, Jennifer earned 18 letters during her high school career participating in basketball, softball, track and field, volleyball and cross country. For her play, Jorgensen was named Des Moines Register Female Athlete of the Year and Miss Iowa, the state's top female basketball player, by the Iowa Newspaper Association. On the court, Jennifer finished her basketball career at SE Webster-Grand as the No. 2 scorer in Iowa state women's basketball history with 2,708 points while finishing fourth in rebounds (1,184) and fifth in assists (621). As a senior Jorgensen was the state's all-class leader in points per game (30.4) and assists per game (8.9) to go along with 13.3 rebounds per game. Additionally, Jorgensen shot an astounding 61.3% (296-of-483) from the floor during her senior season. Defensively, Jorgensen posted 4.0 steals per contests while also adding 1.6 blocks. On the track, Jennifer won three consecutive state long jump titles, earning her final championship as a senior. Last year she finished third at the state championships in both the 100 and 200 meters. On the softball field, Jorgensen took the Eagles to the state championship tournament and earned all-time Iowa marks in career hits and stolen bases. Her four-year stolen bases mark of 320 established a national record. As an all-around athlete, Jorgensen ran for her school's cross country team as both a freshman and junior while playing three years of volleyball during her first three years of high school.
