Simons Signs Pro Contract With Frankston Blues In Australia

STOCKTON, Calif. - Pacific women's basketball graduate Emily Simons has signed to play professionally in her native Australia. Simons will join the Frankston Blues of the Southeast Australian Basketball League for the upcoming season.

Simons, who came to Pacific from Doncaster, Australia, will be joining a team just 32 miles from her hometown before the Blues' June 22nd game against the Canberra Capitals.

In her four years with the Tigers, Simons shot 52.8 percent from the from the field, the second best percentage in program history (among players with at least 200 made field goals). She ranks seventh in program history in offensive rebounds and 15th in blocked shots.

She led Pacific in rebounding in 2016-17, as she started 24 of 31 games and grabbed 5.8 boards per contest while shooting 47 percent from the field. As a junior, Simons shot 59.5 percent, the second-best mark in Pacific's 42 seasons of women's basketball.

Simons also ranks in Pacific's career top 30 in total rebounds, steals and minutes played, having appeared in 98 games with the Tigers, while starting 41.

She graduated with a degree in communications this spring.

Frankston is fifth in the SEABL through 12 games, at 4-8.
