Roger Ward Voted MPSF Men's Swimmer of the Week

Woodland, Calif. – For the second consecutive week, a member of Pacific’s men’s swim team has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimmer of the Week. Junior Roger Ward (San Leandro, Calif.) earned the distinction following five top-four finishes in individual races during Pacific’s road trip to Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.

On Saturday, January 29, Ward had a pair of third place finishes in the Breast events and a first place finish in the 200 IM. He finished third in the 100 Breast with a pace of 1:00.31 and picked up an additional third place finish in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:12.32. He closed out the dual meet touching the wall in 1:57.12 to claim the top spot in 200 IM.

In the second meet of the weekend in Santa Barbara, Calif., Ward was a part of the 200 Medley Relay team “B” that came in fourth with a collective time of 1:40.06. For the second time in the weekend he came in third in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:10.43. Roger concluded the weekend with a fourth place finish in the 200 IM when he touched the wall in 1:59.62.

Ward and Pacific’s swim teams return to action February 23-26 at the MPSF Championships in Long Beach, Calif.
