Schilling's third year at Pacific was highlighted by a pair of top-24 finishes at the 2013 MPSF Championships. He took 22nd in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:07.27 and 23rd in the 400 IM with a time of 4:11.15. Schilling placed ninth in the 400 IM (4:22.47) at the Pacific Invite and took fifth in the 200 Breast (2:09.11) at the UNLV Winter Invite.
In his second season at Pacific, Schilling continued to provide depth for the Tigers in the breaststroke events. His best showing of the season came against Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz when he recorded three top-10 finishes. He took fifth in the 200 Breast and added a sixth-place finish in the 1000 Free and a ninth-place finish in the 200 IM. He set his season best time of 2:10.62 in the 200 Breast against Seattle and CSU Bakersfield, a time that ranked fifth on the team.
Schilling earned Second Team All-MPSF honors in the 1650 Free and the 200 Breast. He took fifth in the 1650 Free (16:36.31) and sixth in the 200 Breast (2:10.71) at the 2011 MPSF Championships. He had his best meet against UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 29, finishing second in both the 1000 Free (10:02.65) and the 200 Breast (2:10.38). Schilling also finished fifth in the 100 Breast at three different meets.
Schilling prepped at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas, where he earned four letters in swimming. He earned All-America honors from 2008-10 and All-State honors in 2007.
Schilling was born in Denver, Colo., and is the son of Cindy and Doug Schilling. He has two older siblings, Brendan and Brianna. An environmental studies major, Schilling enjoys swimming, sleeping, and eating.
