Ormsby proved to be one of Pacific's top reserves during his first season in Stockton. He finished the year with five goals, including a pair of scores in the Tigers' win over Redlands at the Aggie Shootout.
Ormsby comes to Pacific after a two-year career at Grossmont College, where he led the Griffins to a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title in 2011. He tallied 92 goals, 40 assists, and 54 steals in his second year, earning All-America and all-league honors.
He signed with UCLA out of Valhalla High School in 2009 before redshirting his first year for the Bruins. In high school, Ormsby earned four letters in water polo and was named to the All-CIF San Diego Section First Team as a senior. He finished his high school career with 279 goals, scoring 125 as a senior.
Ormsby played club water polo for the San Diego Shores under head coach Doug Peabody. He twice led his squad to a silver medal at the Junior Olympics.
Ormsby was born in El Cajon, Calif., and is the son of Greg and Peggy Ormsby. He has an older sister, Ashley, and an older brother, Brett. Brett was a four-year letter winner for UCLA’s men’s water polo team, winning a national championship in 2004. Ormsby will major in history.
