Tigers Dominate Slugs

Stockton Calif. The No.15 Pacific Tigers earned their second victory in two days defeating the Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz in straight sets Saturday March 19.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-21, 25-16.
Pacific was solid on both sides of the ball, but offensively they were phenomenal all night long. Led by redshirt sophomore Taylor Hughes (Fallbrook, Calif.) who hit a blistering .579 while sniping 14 kills on 19 swings, the Tigers hit a .440 team clip and recorded 45 kills while committing just 12 errors. Redshirt junior Nicolaas Schenk (Kamuela, Hawaii) and redshirt freshman Adam Troy (Loomis, Calif.) each added another eight kills while both hitting better than .350.
With the result The Tigers improved to 9-14, (3-12 MPSF) while the Banana Slugs fell to 7-10.
The Tigers are next in action Friday March 25, when the host Long Beach State in the Alex G. Spanos Center in a match scheduled for 7:00pm.
