Men's Volleyball Dropped In Three To No. 5 UCLA

Stockton, Calif. – No. 15 Pacific Men's Volleyball fell in three sets to No. 5 UCLA on Friday, March 8 in Pauley Pavilion. The Tigers were led on the night by senior middle blocker Christian Ahlin with six kills on nine swings to hit .444. The set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.

The loss drops Pacific to 5-11 and 3-11 in conference play, while the victory improves UCLA to 12-9 and 8-7 in MPSF play.

Sophomore middle blocker Tommy Carmody added three kills on as many swings in the opening set, but Pacific fell 25-19.  Adam Troy, Christian Franceschi and Ahlin each added a pair of kills. Senior setter Patrick Tunnell added nine of his 15 assists in the opening frame.

Taylor Hughes, Troy, Carmody, Franceschi and Ahlin each added a pair of kills, but Pacific fell in the second set 25-19. Ahlin was a perfect two for two on swings. Freshman setter Marco Grasso added two of his eight total assists in the second set.

Hughes and Ahlin each added a pair of kills in Pacific's 25-20 defeat in the final set. Junior libero Javier Caceres added six of his eight total digs in the final frame.

The Tigers are back on the court tomorrow, against UC Santa Barbara. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
