Pacific Tennis Seniors Jenifer Widjaja And Artem Gramma Recognized As Big West Scholar Athletes

Anaheim, Calif. - Senior tennis student-athletes Jenifer Widjaja and Artem Gramma were both honored guests at the 2011 Big West Conference Scholar Athlete Banquet on March 10th in Anaheim, California. They were recognized for their academic and athletic accomplishments as the two representative students from University of the Pacific.
Senior Jenifer Widjaja, a business administration major of Sao Roque Brazil, has competed for the Tigers in the No. 1 position serving as a driving force on the Pacific Women's Tennis team. Over the past two seasons, Jenifer has earned numerous awards and been recognized for many of her accomplishments. Jenifer was selected to be the 2010 Big West Athlete of the Year and was selected to be on the 2010 1st Team All-Conference in both singles and doubles and in 2009 for singles and 2nd Team doubles. At Pacific, Jenifer earned her highest rank of No. 60 in the Fall of 2010 and has participated at NCAA Singles Tournament twice.
Jenifer is also very accomplished in terms of her academic career. She was a 2010 Academic All-Conference recipient, and a two time honoree of the ITA All Academic Scholar in 2010 and 2009. She was also recognized as a Pacific Scholar Athlete, made the Dean's list, and is a member of Delta Epsilon International Honor Society in Economics.
She has also taken an active part in the community and has contributeda great deal of time and service to several organizations and has taken part in community events. After graduation, Jenifer plans to pursue a career in delivering financial improvement services with a multinational corporation.
Artem Gramma, a business administration major of Krivoj Roj, Ukraine, has earned three letters as a Pacific Athlete.He is now in his first year of graduate study at Pacific, after having graduated in three years. In addition to excelling in his studies, Artem has proved himself on the court, earning numerous honors and gaining respect from not only his teammates, but from opponents and their coaches as well.
Artem was Big West Player of the year in 2010, 2010 1st Team All-Conference in both singles as well as doubles, 1st Team All-Conference singles in 2009, and in 2008 received Honorable Mention in singles. His academic accomplishments include, 2010 Academic All-Conference, 2010 and 2009ITA All-Academic Scholar Athlete, he received the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award, and The Robert Winterberg Outstanding Senior Award for the Eberhardt School of Business. Artem also finds himself giving back to the community through various community activities and services.
After completing his education, Artem plans to pursue a career in Investment Banking in the US or Europe.
