DAVIS, Calif. - The third and final day of the Aggie Invite came to an end as Nathan Hampton won the Flight C bracket for the second year in a row.

Hampton breezed through the first set taking it 6-1 against the familiar Gonzaga Bulldog, Simon Homedes. The second set took a little more effort from Hampton as it went to a tie-break that saw Hampton come out on top in a 7-6(0) win to be named champion yet again.

Ross Watson made his way through the Sunday consolation bracket where he went up against another Bulldog. Gonzaga pulled ahead and took the win, 6-4, 6-3.

"I am very proud of the way the guys competed in this tournament," said assistant coach Daniel Llarenes.  "They all managed themselves very well between the points this weekend especially Nathan winning in the finals of his flight, 7-0 in the tiebreaker. That was a big testament of the mental work he has put in."

In consolation doubles, Hampton and Watson teamed up to take on a pair from Nevada who were too much for the Tigers and the Wolf Pack pulled out the victory, 8-6.

In day two of the Stockton Men's Challenger, Johnathan Lieu and Bernardo Oliveira looked to further their experience as they competed unattached from Pacific.

Oliveira, representing Brazil, battled first against Matias Franco Descotte of Argentina but fell in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, while Lieu faced fellow American, Sekou Bangoura. Lieu, playing his first tournament of 2017, dropped his match to Bangoura, 6-1, 6-1. Both losses restrict Oliveira and Lieu from moving on.

The Tigers next head south to Santa Barbara to battle in the UCSB Invitational starting on Saturday October 7 through Tuesday October 10.
