In his first season, Tadiwa proved to be a reliant player as he competed in all 25 matches for the Tigers. In singles, he went 11-11 overall and 3-3 in the WCC and split time at the No.1, No.2 and No.3 singles. He had multiple match winners including the match winning point against the nationally ranked #43 Portland. He finished the season on a four game win streak. In doubles, Tadiwa played all but one of his doubles matches at the No 1. spot. He played with three different partners on the season going 0-1 with Miguel Diaz, 3-3 with Alex Giannini, 6-8 with Akram El Sallaly. Tadiwa and Akram won WCC Doubles Team of the Week twice during the 2016-17 campaign and recevied All-WCC Doubles Honorable Mention honors.
Before coming to Pacific, Chinamo attended the ISP Mouratoglou Academy in Biot, France. While there, he reached the semifinals of the French Men's Open. He also defeated the No. 18-ranked junior player in the world to reach the ITF Grasse, France Future.
Chinamo is a native of Harare, Zimbabwe.
