Davis, Calif. and San Diego, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team was in action again at both the Aztec Invitational in San Diego and the UC Davis Invitational in Davis on Saturday, October 5.

Freshman Miguel Diaz won in the seminfinal round of singles competition, defeating Felix Van Kann of Loyola Marymount. He will play Cristobal Rivera of Loyola Marymount in Sunday's final. Junior Denis Stolyarov also advanced to the final of the consolation round on Sunday.

"It was great day for the Tigers here in San Diego," said Head Coach Ryan Redondo. "Miguel Diaz advanced to the finals of the main draw while Denis Stolyarov is in the consolation final. Miguel beat a high lineup player from Loyola Marymount with a lot of grit and discipline.  He's very exciting to watch.  Denis came back from being way down and definitely found his rythm towards the end of the match.  Again, tomorrow is our test; we have to come out even more pumped up and strong."

At the UC Davis Invitational, the doubles team of juniors Alex Hamilton and Erik Cederwall won two matches in doubles consolations, while Eric Spence advanced to the ITA California Singles consolation final.
