Pacific Pulls Ahead 4-3 Over Saint Mary's College

Moraga, Calif.-While on the road the Tigers pulled out all the stops against the Gaels and went for the victory.  After a grueling match Pacific picked up the win with a final overall match score of 4-3. The pressure was really on the Tigers after they dropped the doubles point to the Gaels, however in the singles events the Tigers secured the No. 2, 3, 5, and 6 positions to aid in the Tiger victory.

After the match had concluded, Director of Tennis and Head Men's Tennis Coach Ryan Redondo stated, "Huge clinch once again 4-3. This was a team victory and again Sem came through to close it out 7-6 in the third. I am really proud of this team."

Freshman standout Sem Verbeek had yet another impressive week aiding in the Tiger's victory. His singles record is now an impressive 5-1 which includes opponents from ranked teams as well. The fate of his match had been resting upon his shoulders as he faced Thomas Manner in the No. 2 spot.  Verbeek reigned supreme in the third set to secure the win.

Another Tiger that had an impressive week is sophomore Denis Stolyarov who shut out opponent Thomas Hunt 6-0, 6-0 to aid in the Tigers victory.

The Tigers are now 4-2 and 1-0 in the Big West Conference.
