Tigers Fall To No. 13 California 2-5

Berkeley, Calif.-After battling all morning with the California Bears, the Tigers came up short against the nationally ranked (No. 13) team with a final score of 2-5. However, freshman standout Sem Verbeek clinched another impressive win this week after having been selected as the Big West Male Tennis Athlete of the Week last week.  This match improves Verbeek's singles record to 4-1.

Another Tiger that posted a win for Pacific was sophomore Denis Stolyarov.  He confidently defeated his opponent, Chase Melton in straight sets to earn a final score of 6-2, 6-2.

At the conclusion of the match, Director of Tennis and Head Men's Tennis Coach Ryan Redondo stated, "This was an extremely close match that I fully believe was there for us to take. The team competed very hard in singles and a few points here and there made a difference. We will use this as fuel to push our development and discipline a step further."
