As a Freshman (2011-12)
Led Pacific with a 13-8 singles record and posted an 6-8 mark in doubles. Went 3-1 in both the No. 2 and No. 3 singles spots. Earned a No. 1 singles win over Sacramento State (4/10). Posted No. 2 singles wins over Eastern Washington (3/24), Cal Poly (3/31) and UC Riverside (4/15). Earned No. 3 singles victories against No. 3 BYU (3/9), Purdue (3/16) and Marquette (3/16). Won six matches from the No. 4 position, against Idaho (1/21), UC Davis (1/28), San Francisco (2/4), Loyola Marymount (2/11), Saint Mary's (2/12) and Nevada (3/3).
In doubles, won two matches while paired with Alex Hamilton, against #30 Santa Clara (2/26), Idaho (1/21) and Saint Mary's (2/12). Teammed with Tomasz Krzyszkowski for doubles wins over #67 New Mexico, UC Davis (1/28) and San Francisco (2/4).
Personal: Ben was born in Evanston, Illinois and was raised in Wilmette, Illinois. Ben is the son of Chad and Beth Mirkin and has two younger sisters, Sarah and Rachel. Mirkin has also been recognized as the 2007 All State Champion and his most memorable high school experience was when he won his first national tournament. At present, Ben has not declared a major. After graduating, Ben's career plans include playing professional tennis. Ben's hobbies include watching television, and playing sports.
