As a Junior (2011-12)
Posted a 7-7 doubles mark and a 6-14 singles mark. Earned singles win at the No. 3 position against UC Davis (1/28), San Francisco (2/4), Saint Mary's (2/12), Eastern Washington (3/24), and UC Irvine (4/14). Tallied a No. 4 singles win over BYU (3/9). Teammed with Ivan Castro for No. 1 doubles wins over Nevada (3/3), BYU (3/9), San Diego State (3/15), UC Irvine (4/14), Golding and Castro earned No. 2 doubles victories over Loyola Marymount (2/11) and Saint Mary's (2/12).
Spring 2011 (Sophomore): In his first season with the Tigers, Alex compiled a season record of 10-12 in singles and 9-12 in doubles. Some notable victories Alex earned include his match against Zach Jiganti of No. 68 University of San Francisco in straight sets 6-0, 6-2; and his big three set win at the Big West Championships when Alex defeated No. 45 Marco Comuzzo of Cal Poly with a final score of 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (3). At the conclusion of the season, Alex was selected to be on the Second All Conference Doubles Team along with partner Ivan Castro.
Personal:Alex was born in Houston, Texas and was raised in London, England. Alex was recognized as a most valuable player in high school, and received the Academic and Athletic Award. Alex was also in the Top 10 in the UK in the U18 division. Alex has also had a record of 5-2 for the Mountain West Conference; and was a Mountain Region Doubles Champion in 2009. That year, Alex also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Alex is the son of Terry and Lisa Golding and has three siblings. Alex is a business major and is currently undecided as to his career plans. Alex's hobbies include sleeping, playing other sports, and going out.
