Castro And Hamilton Advance To Doubles Quarterfinals At ITA Southwest Regional Championship
Malibu, Calif. - Pacific's doubles team of Ivan Castro and Alex Hamilton have advanced to the Quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Div. 1 Men's Southwest Regional Championship on Friday, Oct. 21 at Pepperdine.
Castro and Hamilton defeated Benjamin Rechnagel and Ziad Sultan of UC Santa Barbara on 8-3, easily advancing to the Quarterfinal Round on Saturday, Oct. 22 against Jacob Jung and Shuhei Shibara of UC Irvine.
After advancing to the third round of the Singles main draw, Thomasz Kryzyskowski dropped a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 decision to Benjamin Rechnagel of UCSB.
Ben Mirkin and Erik Cederwall are both still alive in the consolation draw, after they each picked up wins over Big West Conference foes on Friday. Mirkin will face Daniel Simko of Loyola Marymount and Cederwall will tangle with Sebastian Bell of Cal Poly on Saturday.
