Coach Ryan Redondo Selected To Be A Coach For The USTA Northern California Team
Bakersfield, Calif. - Head Men's tennis coach and Director of Tennis Ryan Redondo has been selected to be a coach for the USTA Northern California Team this year. The weekend of June 3rd through the 5th, Coach Redondo will coach the USTA NorCal team at the presitigious 38th annual Maze Cup in Bakersfield, California.
Coach Redondo stated, "I am really excited to be a part of the Maze Cup as a coach for the USTA Northern California Team this year. Past participants like Pete Sampras, the Bryan Brothers, Lindsey Davenport, and more have all played it which shows it's rich tradition and competitiveness. I was honored to be a player when I was a junior as well so it is extra special to be a coach now. I really want to the thank the USTA NorCal for this opportunity."
The Maze Cup is a tournament is a prestigious annual team competition featuring the top juniors from Northern California and Southern California. It includes both boys' and girls' 18 and 16. It is played using a Davis Cup/Federation Cup format (four singles and one doubles). The site of the competition rotates between Northern and Southern California. The Bakersfield Racquet Club will host the Maze Cup in 2011. This particular format will embody a college format and will display high performance tennis from accomplished tennis players in their respective age divisions.
