STOCKTON, Calif. - The quest for a West Coast Conference title begins this weekend for the No. 18 Pacific men's soccer team as they head up to Portland to take on the Pilots this Saturday at 7 PM. The match will be streamed free of charge on theW.tv and on NBC Sports Northwest.

In their lone match last weekend the Tigers improved to 8-2 overall with a 2-0 win over West Virginia to hand the Mountaineers their first home loss of the season. Tariq Branche scored both goals for Pacific with Bob Groenendijk adding an assist in the contest. Goalie Curtis Goldsmith notched four saves in Pacific's fourth shutout win of the 2017 campaign.

Last season the Pilots were crowned WCC Champions after putting together a 12-5-2 record including 6-1 in conference play. Portland is 5-5 this year including an upset victory over previously unbeaten Western Michigan a week ago. Last time out the Tigers edged the Pilots 1-0 behind a goal in the 52nd minute by Tristan Blackmon and a four save performance by Goldsmith in Pacific's regular season home finale.

Earlier this week the Tigers returned to the Top 25 in the United Soccer Coaches poll by earning a No. 18 ranking by the organization. Pacific is also currently ranked No. 19 by College Soccer News and No. 12 by Soccer America while being No. 26 in the RPI.

The Tigers wrap up the road trip next weekend against San Francisco on Oct. 13th and Santa Clara on Oct. 17th. Pacific returns home on Oct. 27th to host San Diego at 7 PM, and the first 250 fans in attendance will receive a free vuvuzela.
