Full Conference Release

San Bruno, Calif. - Pacific's Josh Adachi and Gaku Lange have been named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team in their first year of eligibility, the conference office announced on Wednesday morning. Pacific's two selections represents a tie for the most bids to the squad this season as Santa Clara and San Diego also both placed two student-athletes on the scholastic eleven.

Adachi, a sophomore Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences major from Pearl City, Hawai'i, compiled a cumulative 3.55 GPA in the classroom over his first two collegiate semesters. On the field, Adachi has made eight starts between the pipes, picking up 32 saves and registering a shutout in Pacific's win over San Jose State on September 13th. For his efforts, he was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Lange, from Komoro, Japan, is also a sophomore Health, Exercise and Sport Sciences major. He has posted a cumulative 3.72 GPA thus far. The forward has started all 16 games for the Orange and Black this season and has the team lead in points (5) and is tied for the team lead in goals with two.

In addition to Adachi and Lange, Christian Aldama, Curtis Goldsmith, Tyson Fox and Kirk Kappelhoff were named to honorable mention plaudits in their first season of eligibility. In total, Pacific had 13 soccer athletes named to WCC academic honors, as seven members of the women's team were honored last week.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team. This season 37  men's soccer student-athletes met or exceeded the selection criteria.
Pacific will wrap up the 2015 season with the program's senior day contest against Gonzaga on Saturday night at Knoles Field. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 pm and live streaming video is available via
