Stockton, Calif. - With their final tune up tournament before heading to the Big West Championships the Pacific golf team heads to Provo, Utah to take part in the 2011 PING Cougar Classic hosted by BYU. Play will begin with two rounds of 18 on Friday, April 15 at 7:00 am PST with the final round beginning on Saturday, April 16 at 7:00 am.
The Tigers will look to tame the course at Riverside Country Club along with 17 other teams which includes Big West foe UC Davis in the field. Last season the Tigers finished 11th of 18 with the championship going to Colorado State.
Despite the disappointing finish a season ago, the 2010-11 Tigers enter the tournament a completely different team mentally as Pacific has proven to be a force on the course throughout the season. The Tigers enter the weekend with two individual championships (T.J. Bordeaux - Pacific Invitational; Alex Johnson - Fresno State Lexus Classic) and one team championship (Pacific Invitational).
