Men's Golf Heads South for WCC Championships

STOCKTON, Calif. – Monday morning the Pacific men's golf team will tee off at the 2018 West Coast Conference Golf Championships.

This year's event will run from Monday, April 16 through Wednesday, April 18 at the Carlton Oaks Golf Club in Santee, Calif.

Representing the Tigers in this year's event are Casey Scott, Austin Fox, Jee Horsangchai, Daniel Peña and Anthony Madrid. They will tee off with the second group of teams, alongside Santa Clara and San Francisco.

Last season, Pacific snagged a fourth place finish at the Conference Championship event, shooting a two under-par 862.

This spring the Tigers have recorded three top 10 performances, including a second place finish at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, the program's best finish since the 2014-15 season. Most recently, Pacific registered a ninth place finish at the Geiberger Invitational with a score of 886 (+22).

Casey Scott (74.11), who earned individual medalist honors at the GCU Invite, has began to play a much larger roll with the Tigers, also earning the top finish (t-36) at the Oregon Duck Invitational. Head coach John Cook will also look to Fox to help lead his team this weekend as he currently holds team-best 18-hole average of 73.92.

Peña is shooting 74.46, while Horsangchai and Madrid average 75.03 and 76.22, respectively.
