STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf team returns to the links on Monday as the Tigers head to the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno.
The 54-hole tournament at Sunnyside Country Club starts Monday with the first and second rounds, with the third round on Tuesday. The course is a par 71, with a yardage of 6,921 for the Nick Watney Invitational.
The 16-team field is comprised of host Fresno State, fellow West Coast Conference schools BYU, Saint Mary's, Loyola Marymount, San Francisco, Gonzaga and San Diego, as well as Cal Poly, Cal State Northridge, Sacramento State, Seattle, Utah, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
Pacific will use the same lineup as in the season-opening Ram Masters Tournament at Colorado State, with Casey Scott, Austin Fox, Daniel Peña, Jee Horsangchai and Anthony Madrid. Beau Forest will compete as an individual.
Madrid opened the Ram Masters with the Tigers' best round of 70 in the first round two weeks ago. Horsangchai was the Tigers' top performer at the Ram Masters with a 220 over the three rounds in Colorado. Pena and Scott hope to get off to hot starts like they did in Colorado, with Pena shooting a 72 in the first round and Scott a 73.
