LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers finished the Del Walker Intercollegiate in third place after today's +6 round, giving them their highest finish of the season. Tyler Burnes led the way with his best showing of the year in just his third tournament. Burnes started the Del Walker with a 68 in round one and ended at +2 overall, good for sixth, the second-highest individual finish of the year for a Tiger. The sophomore hit par today with a 70. Burnes had four birdies on the day, recovering from back-to-back bogeys on 12 and 13 with birdies on 14 and 18.
Geoff Fry finished second for Pacific with his +6 score in the tournament. Today, Fry had his best round with a 71. He sat at -1 after nine holes and picked up two other birdies to finish the tournament in 15th.
Daniel Peña had a +5 today, his worst round of the tournament, but still finished in 26th thanks in part to his +1 round two. Peña birdied three times on the back nine today.
Casey Scott had his best round of the Del Walker with a 70 today after going 76-75 in the first two rounds. Scott was at +3 on the front nine but went on a tear to end the day, birdieing four times in seven holes on the back nine. He would take 34th in the tournament.
