Burlington, Iowa - Playing the second set of 18 holes at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge, the Tigers moved up two spots on Saturday morning after shooting a +3, 291. The Tigers moved to 13th on the leaderboard after 36 holes at the par 72, 7,223 yard Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.

Shaking off a rough start to his tournament on day one, Geoff Fry came up with the Tigers' best round of the early season as the junior finished the day with at one-under having posted a round of 71. Starting on the 10th hole, Fry steadily went about his business over the first nine holes, playing even to the course before making the turn. Around the bend and back on the first tee, Fry went on a scoring binge that saw the junior pick up three strokes over the next four holes with birdies on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th holes. He would give two strokes back over the final five holes of play on the day, but finish at 71 to lead the Tigers.

Just behind the junior, freshman Tyler Burnes came up with an even round, 72, on the day as he came up with four birdies and four bogeys to go with 10 pars in the round. Overall, Burnes is at the top of the standings for the Tigers at 39th on the leaderboard as the first-year golfer is four-over through 36 holes.

As a team, Pacific sits in 13th overall at 25-over with a two-round team total of 601. The leader in the clubhouse is the host Hawkeyes after Iowa shot up the standings with a 15-under, 273, in round two to go 19-under for the tournament.

Pacific is back on the course at 6:30 am PT on Sunday, Sept. 27 when round three of the tournament begins with a shotgun start. The Tigers will begin their final rounds on the tee-boxes at holes 16-18 alongside of golfers from Southern Illinois and Furman.
