Pacific To Take The Two Seed Into The Big West Championships

Irvine, Calif. - With the Big West Championships less than a week away, the Pacific golf team will head to La Quinta, Calif. as the No. 2 seed in the tournament after the final team rankings were released by GolfStat on Wednesday, April 25.  The Tigers have finished each of the last three years as the conference runner up, just missing out on taking home the Big West title.  Despite last season's second-place finish, the Tigers earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament where they ended Regional play just off the pace for a berth into the championship tournament.

Last season's Big West Championship winner, UC Davis, enters the 2012 event as the No. 4 seed.  The Aggies will look for their third title in the last four seasons, however Long Beach State, which takes the No. 1 seed into the tournament, and the rest of the field will look to stand in their way.

The three-day tournament will take place at the La Quinta Resort, Mountain Course starting Sunday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 1.  The Tigers will be among the first teams to tee off on Sunday, April 29 as Pacific, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton hit the course beginning at 7:15 am.  To follow the live results go to GolfStatResults.com.
