Tigers Sign Marcus Falley For 2011-12
April 15, 2011
Stockton, Calif. - University of the Pacific Head Men's Basketball Coach Bob Thomason has announced the signing of Marcus Falley to a letter of intent for the 2011-12 season.
Falley is a 6-3 shooting guard from Las Vegas, Nev. He comes to Pacific as a sophomore, after spending last year at Oxnard College. Marcus was a First Team All-Western State Conference selection in 2010-11, leading the Condors with 19.0 points per game, 81 three-pointers and 54 steals. In conference play, he averaged 20.7 points per game, including four games of 30 points or more. Marcus had career bests with 35 points and seven three-pointers against Allan Hancock on Feb. 2. He helped Oxnard JC to 16 wins and its first appearance in the state JC tournament in eight years. He also attended Mt. Zion Academy in North Carolina and prepped at Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nev.
"Marcus is a pure shooter with great range, who also can create his own shot," said Thomason. "With great size as a guard, he can play both wing positions. He can score, but what he really wants is to be part of a team that wants to compete for championships and play in the NCAA Tournament. I am very excited about Marcus becoming a Tiger."
"I chose pacific for a lot of reasons," said Falley. "They have amazing academic programs and I really like this team's chances of competing in the Big West. Pacific is a family that I knew I wanted to be a part of."
Falley joins Travis Fulton and Lorenzo McCloud, who signed on Wednesday. Adam Eackles, Ross Rivera and Tim Thomas will also join the Tigers this fall after signing last November.
