Stockton, Calif. — Pacific Men's Basketball makes its official return to the West Coast Conference as the 2013-14 schedule has been announced. The Tigers will open the WCC schedule with a home game against Saint Mary's College on Monday, Dec. 30 at 8:00 p.m. The schedule has been fully posted at the link above, including game times.
Pacific's home opener is an exhibition game against Cal State Stanislaus on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers open the home regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 12 with a contest against 2013 Big West Conference Tournament championship game opponent UC Irvine. Long-time rival Fresno State also returns to the Spanos Center on Nov. 23. Defending WCC champion Gonzaga will travel to Stockton on Feb. 27 in a game to be televised by ESPNU. Other televised contests will be announced soon.
The Tigers' road schedule will include a season-opening contest at Nevada on Nov. 8 and a matchup in Logan at Utah State (Dec. 7). Pacific will also be a part of the 2013 Global Sports Hardwood Classic (Nov. 29-Dec. 1) and the South Point Holiday Classic in Las Vegas (Dec. 20-21). The Tigers open road West Coast Conference play at Portland on Jan. 2.
"We are excited about the challenge of this year's schedule," said Head Coach Ron Verlin. "We'll be tested early in the season with a strong pre-conference schedule that includes tournaments in Oregon and Las Vegas. The West Coast Conference schedule will keep us ready every night."
Prior to the official practice season, the Tigers will host the annual Tigers In Tennies event for area youngsters on November 21 at 6:00 p.m., followed by the traditional Midnight Mania event to tipoff the practice season on October 18 at 10:00 p.m. Both events will be held in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
