Taylor is a 6-2 guard from Eckersdorf, Germany. He attended Graf-Muenster Gymnasium in Bayreuth, Germany. David averaged 19.2 points, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game for BBC Bayreuth in 2011. He has also played for NBC Neurnberg (Pro A), Brose Baskets Bamberg (Pro B and NBBL). With a strong game in his early teens, David was selected to a Bavarian All-Star Team in 2007 and to Germany's 2010 U16 National Team as the only player selected at age 15. Getting quite a bit of international experience, he played in the 2010 U16 European Championship in Montenegro and the 2011 championship in Prague. He was most recently on the 2012 U18 National Team, the only player selected at age 17. His father is Derrick Taylor, who helped LSU to the NCAA Final Four and was selected in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.
