The Tiger men's basketball team returns to the Spanos Center for a non-conference game against Oral Roberts University on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m. It is a return matchup from the ESPN BracketBuster game when the Tigers played ORU in Tulsa, Okla. in the 2010-11 season.
Pacific is 1-1 on the season. Senior Lorenzo McCloud leads the Tigers with 13.5 points per game, including a season-high 20 points in the Friday night loss at Fresno State. Junior Ross Rivera is second on the team with 11.0 points game. Senior Colin Beatty leads Pacific in rebounding with 8.5 per game.
Pacific finished the 2011-12 season with a record of 11-19, placing sixth in the Big West Conference with a 6-10 mark. Senior Lorenzo McCloud led the Tigers with 11.2 points per game and 97 assists on the season. Fulton was Pacific's top rebounder a year ago with 6.1 per game, adding 9.5 points per outing. Rivera led the team in league scoring, with 13.5 points per contest. Rivera and Fulton each earned All-Big West Honorable Mention honors last season, while Rivera was also named the Big West's Sixth Man of the Year. The Tigers return all five starters this year, along with 11 letterwinners from last year's team. Head coach Bob Thomason returns for his 25th and final season as Tiger head coach, after announcing his retirement at the end of the 2012-13 season. He is the career wins leader for both Pacific and the Big West, currently with 415 victories.
Oral Roberts is 1-1 on the year. The Golden Eagles won the only other meeting between the two teams, 79-63 on Feb. 19, 2011.
