Rivera And Fulton Earn All-Big West Accolades
Irvine, Calif. - Pacific junior Travis Fulton and sophomore Ross Rivera each earned All-Big West Conference honors when the league's yearly awards were announced on Monday, March 5. Both student-athletes earned Honorable Mention accolades, while Rivera was also named Big West Conference Sixth Man of the Year.
Fulton is third on the team in scoring and leads the team with 6.1 rebounds per game. In league games he scored 11.3 points and grabbed 6.6 rebounds per contest. He is ninth in the league in rebounding overall and ranks fifth in league games. Travis has three double-doubles on the year, including a 14 point, 10 rebound performance against Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 23.
Rivera leads the Tigers with 11.3 points per game overall and 13.5 points per contest in league games. His 13.5 points per contest ranked fifth in league games. Ross leads the league in free throw percentage (.847), making 122 of 144 attempts. He tied for the second most free throw makes in a game (15) on Feb. 2 at UC Riverside, one of his four double-digit free throw games of the season. Scoring in double figures 17 times in the last 24 games, Ross has averaged 12.6 points overall in those games. He came off the bench in 26 of his 29 appearances for Pacific.
Rivera is the third Tiger in four years to earn Big West Sixth Man of the year, joining Pat Eveland (2010) and Bryan LeDuc (2009).
The Tigers play in the quarterfinal round of the Big West Tournament on Thursday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. with a game against UC Santa Barbara.
