Beatty is a 6-4 wing from Lanham, Md. He comes to Pacific as a junior, after spending two years at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas. Colin was a Second Team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference selection as both a freshman and a sophomore. He was second on the team with 13.2 points per game in 2010-11, adding 169 rebounds, 106 assists and 43 steals. He helped the Cougars to a 19-11 record as a sophomore, scoring in double figures 20 times. He had a career-high 35 points at Hesston JC on Nov. 6, adding six assists. As a freshman in 2009-10, he was second on the team with 14.3 points per game while leading the Cougars with 8.7 rebounds per contest. He had 25 double figure scoring games in 2009-10, with a season-high 30 points at Brown Mackie College on Jan. 4. He prepped at DuVal High School in Lanham, Md. Colin posted 19.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per tilt as a senior. He earned Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention honors in his final high school season.
“Colin is a perfect wing for our style of play,” said Thomason. “He can shoot the three, drive and can create his own shot. His quickness will help our ability to become an up-tempo, fast-breaking team. I’m very excited to coach Colin.”
“I picked Pacific because it is a good school to accomplish my goals on and off the court,” said Beatty.
