Position: Director of Athletic Training

One of the longest tenured Tigers in Pacific Athletics, Chris Pond, the Director of Athletic Training, enters his 22nd year in Pacific's sports medicine department. Pond is a certified athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and oversees treatment and medical attention given to all of Pacific's intercollegiate sports.

Working closely with team doctors, Pond aids in the designing of rehabilitation programs for injured athletes. These programs are typically progressive and active in nature in order to allow athletes to return to duty in stronger, fitter fashion. Pond spends his winters as the certified athletic trainer on the bench for Pacific's men's basketball team.  Pond previously was the Tigers athletic trainer in charge of Football before its dissolution in 1995.

In addition to his duties in the athletic department, Pond teaches in the sport sciences department as a professor of Evaluating Athletic Injuries.

Pond was a 1988 graduate of Utah State and spent two years as a graduate assistant at Arizona before arriving at Pacific. Pond currently resides in Stockton with his wife, Geniel. They have two children, Aaron and Ashley.
