Dan has served as Team President of the Stockton Thunder since the team’s inaugural season in 2005. He was the first employee hired by the team in January of 2005, by then owner Michael Reinsdorf.
“We are extremely thrilled to have someone of Dan’s ability and reputation in the community to join Pacific Athletics,” said Leland. “Dan’s strengths are tailor made for this position, and he will help us elevate our program in all facets as we transition to a new dawn of the University’s athletic footprint.”
“I’m extremely excited about becoming a member of the Pacific family and look forward to being an integral part of Tiger athletics,” said Chapman. “This is such an exciting time for the sports programs at Pacific with their move to the West Coast Conference and we have a golden opportunity to make a significant impact throughout San Joaquin County and our entire region.”

Chapman was also the recipient of the ECHL’s Executive-of-the-Year Award at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season.
Prior to joining the Thunder, Chapman served as the President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Club in Stockton. He began his career in professional sports in 1986 with the Stockton Ports Baseball Club where he would spend the next 14 seasons, the final 10 as the team’s General Manager from 1990-99. During his time with the Ports the team would capture the California League championship in 1986, 1990 and 1992. He was named Sporting News Class A Executive of the Year in 1990. In 1992, he accepted the Award of Excellence by California League president Joe Gagliardi, and in 1993, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce selected him as Business Manager of the Year.
